Wool Life Cycle Assessment

You are here

Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) as a technique to assess environmental impacts of products, processes or services. An LCA for a woollen sweater, for example, assesses the environmental impacts across its entire life from raw material production (cradle) to disposal (grave). This fact sheet covers the implications of LCA for wool products at each stage of life: on farm, processing and manufacturing, the use phase and end of life.
