Discover Natural Fibre Initiative to continue in 2011

All natural fibre members of the ‘Discover Natural Fibre Initiative’ agree: The initiatives strengths lie in the many common interests and the opportunity to speak with one strong voice.
During Heimtextil 2011, IWTO hosted the annual members meeting of the ‘Discover Natural Fibres Initiative’ (DNFI). All natural fibres were well represented and expressed their motivation to continue the initiative’s work also in 2011. After a lively discussion on current challenges, goals and opportunities next steps were established. The first task will be the creation of a new website presenting the initiative and maintaining a platform for all fibres. The DNFI members voted in favour of IWTO to continue with the secretariat also in 2011 to ensure continuance in this critical first phase. The members also agreed to meet twice per year to be able to push its issues more effectively. For more information on behalf of the DNFI please contact the IWTO office.
Emerging from the U.N. Year of Natural Fibres 2009 the Discover Natural Fibres Initiative supported by IWTO is a worldwide campaign to promote the use of natural fibres through education about their benefits both to the wearer as well as the environment as a whole.
