IWTO Round Table - Biella, Italy, 15-16 Nov 2010 ( 08-02-2011 )
The IWTO Wool Round Table 2011 was successfully held in Biella (Italy) with interesting discussions, presentations and speeches. Main topics discussed were the new developments on the IWTO Super S scheme, updates on the IWTO lobbying and fibre advocacy efforts in regard to “LCA/Carbon Footprint of Wool” and “Animal Welfare Issues”, as well as the analyses of the current ongoing new marketing campaigns “Campaign for Wool” and “Woolmark Gold Label”. Emerging from the U.N. Year of Natural Fibres 2009 the Discover Natural Fibres Initiative supported by IWTO is a worldwide campaign to promote the use of natural fibres through education about their benefits both to the wearer as well as the environment as a whole.
