The World Wool Award which was presented in 2006 and 2007 in on hold until further notice. We apologise for the inconvenience caused.
The Best in Wool
In 2006-2007, IWTO awarded special products, designs, developments and innovations related to wool or wool blends.
Individuals or institutes were encouraged to send their entries. A jury selected the outstanding and most relevant entries.
The winning products were given special publicity in the wool and textile industry through measures such as:
- Displays at IWTO Events, e.g. IWTO Congress, IWTO Receptions, IWTO Wool Round Table, IWTO Country Summits, etc.
- IWTO Newsflash / IWTO Membership Circulars
- IWTO Website display
Entries were made in the following categories:

- Marketing & Promotion
- Concept & Innovation
The World Wool Award was an excellent platform for textile students around the globe to show and communicate how they visualise wool - the most natural fibre in the world.
Emerging from the U.N. Year of Natural Fibres 2009 the Discover Natural Fibres Initiative supported by IWTO is a worldwide campaign to promote the use of natural fibres through education about their benefits both to the wearer as well as the environment as a whole.
