INTRODUCTION
The purpose of International Wool Textile
Organisation (IWTO) is to position and to value wool clearly in the
consumer’s mind as a material, which is desirable for its technical,
ethical and comfortable values. To realise that IWTO wants to promote
and support education in the textile sector as well as increase
awareness of the unique properties of wool and wool blend products
around the world by targeting selected textiles/ technical
textiles/fashion/apparel/design universities, academies and schools and
industry companies.
PROJECT
The World Wool Award is to be the worldwide event arousing international
interest, able to celebrate wool, its charm and its future use in
products/markets, especially leading to research and innovation.
The aims of the project are to emphasize the positive and natural
properties of wool, to stimulate future research work and innovations of
product development and to communicate ideas of marketing and promotion
of wool products.
The projects that are awarded by IWTO should deal with matters of the
wool sector, its fashion, marketing or innovation. A professional Jury
with journalists, retailers, designers and entrepreneurs evaluate the
projects.
There are three categories in which the award will be given:

Marketing & Promotion

Concept & Innovation
CONDITIONS
The projects are delivered in form of a
CD. Samples can be attached if possible.
Each project has to be supported by a detailed text explaining and
highlighting the basic idea, and its implementation. The description
also has to contain the following information:
APPLICANTS
Students, trainees
and young professionals from textile/fashion universities, academies and
schools, companies and institutes all over the world are kindly invited
to take part in this event.
PRIZE
The winners of the three categories are granted:

Free participation to the IWTO Annual Wool Congress
held in Edinburgh, UK in May 2007 including travel costs, accommodation
costs and Congress Fee

A Winners Trophy and Diploma
-
A free of costs fully equipped stall at the
exhibition area of the IWTO Congress to show and promote the winner’s
project
-
A free of costs fully equipped stand sector of the
Feature Wool! stand at Texworld, one of the most internationally known
fabric fairs held in Paris
-
During one year an international exposure via the
IWTO website
-
Profit of contacts with worldwide media
CERTIFICATE OF MERIT
As there is only one first prize, for other particularly interesting
projects the Jury may decide to award Certificates of Merits. |
