Coming out of inspirational starting point of the structural elements
(metal spokes/chains etc) that had been found on a worn out bicycle, the
author presented a versatile, stimulating collection of wool fabrics. By
exploring traditional yarns and materials and using more unconventional
ones (rayon, metallic yarns and plastic coated wire) to see how they
interact with wool, the samples look wearable and luxurious, but unique
in terms of their design and use of material. The idea of “pushing
boundaries” with wool is something to be of huge benefit to the wool
industry and the consumer.
By exploring wool mixed with other materials the author achieved to
create a range of different weighted fabrics accessorized with buttons,
brooches, stitching and trims according to the latest trends.
