The future of wool belongs to a partnership between equals – the
partnership between all players of the textile supply chain, such as
designers, retailers, garment makers, marketing and promotion
specialists, growers, traders, spinners, weavers, etc.
All partners are investing capital in
projects that promise an optimum return on the investment. And, in the
future, it will only be possible to achieve this with products, which
are convincing in terms of design, innovation and marketing. This is the
concept on which the work of IWTO is based.
As the world wide body of the wool
industry, we see it as our duty to provide new added value to our
members and our industry and to play an active role in supporting the
partnership along the whole chain of the textile pipeline. Thus, by
creating this attractive World Wool Awards Project (WWA), we promote the
partnership among the textile chain in celebrating the unique
achievements of wool.
We are presenting the World Wool Award for the first time this year and
we are proud to be able to do this in Australia, the heart of the wool
growing countries.
We would like to thank our main
sponsor WOOLMARK and co-sponsor FAWO for their constant support of the
World Wool Award Project. We also would like to thank the international
jury for their expertise and care with which they evaluated the projects
submitted.
Our very special thanks go to all
participants in this Awards Project: by taking part, you have set a
signal for the future of wool, for the partnership of all players within
our textile pipeline.
For all of us, we hope that the prize winners and their outstanding
works will encourage numerous colleagues throughout the world so that
the echo is even bigger when we announce the 2nd
World Wool Award in the near future.
